Kathryn Short, M.Ed, LPC, CEDS (she/her/hers)
Counselor and Eating Disorder Specialist
Kathryn is a Licensed Professional Counselor whose interests include counseling young women, college students, and those suffering with eating disorders. Kathryn is a graduate of Clemson University with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
While in graduate school Kathryn interned at SafeHarbor working with victims of domestic violence. Kathryn also interned at Pickens Behavioral Health working with adolescents in the school system. After graduate school Kathryn worked as a clinical manager at Eating Recovery Center, The Carolinas overseeing and working with individuals recovering from eating disorders in the Partial Hospitalization, Intensive Outpatient, and outpatient settings.
Kathryn has completed her certification as a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) through the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals. Kathryn's areas of interests include: eating disorders, body image issues, depression, anxiety, and adjustment issues.
When Kathryn is not at work, you can find her renovating her house with her husband, loving on her two babies, traveling, and exploring the outdoors.

Amber DeGarmo, M.Ed, LPC, CEDS (she/her/hers)
Counselor and Eating Disorder Specialist
Amber is a graduate of Clemson University where she received her Bachelors in Psychology and her Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She has training in working specifically with children and adolescents, and therapeutic experience in a variety of need areas including: family issues, anxiety, depression, PTSD, life adjustment, stress management, negative body image, low self-esteem, and disordered eating.
Amber's previous work experience includes: working as an intern at Marshall I. Pickens Psychiatric Hospital in their inpatient child and adolescent crisis stabilization unit and as a school based therapist with the Department of Mental Health and the Greenville County School District in Elementary and High Schools. Amber received further training in the specialty of treating eating disorders at the Eating Recovery Center, the Carolinas (formerly known as the Riley Center for Eating Disorders) .
Amber has completed her certification as a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) through the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals. Her primary goal as a counselor is to assist others in recognizing and utilizing their strengths in order to experience freedom and healing previous emotional wounds in order to experience a full life. Amber can also incorporate faith-based counseling with an evidence-based approach.
In her free time, Amber enjoys spending time with her husband Jacob, her two sons and daughter, her dog, reading, watching movies, renovating furniture, and spending time with friends.

Christina Cown, RD, LD, CEDS-S (she/her/hers)
Dietitian and Eating Disorder Specialist
Christina is a Registered Dietitian and licensed in the state of South Carolina. She is also a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS-S) and iaedp-approved supervisor. Christina has been working with eating disorders since 2011.
Christina's nutrition philosophy is an evidence-based, non-diet approach based on the long-term goal of Intuitive Eating. She also is a proponent of Health At Every Size (HAES). Her main objective is to help her clients heal their relationship with food, body, and movement.
Christina is a graduate of the University of Georgia where she received her Bachelor of Science in Dietetics. She then completed her accredited Dietetic Internship at Southern Regional Medical Center in Atlanta, Georgia.
Prior to starting Reedy River Counseling Associates with Kathryn and Amber, she worked as an outpatient dietitian at St. Francis Hospital in Greenville, SC. She then started working at Riley Therapy and Eating Recovery Center, The Carolinas (formally known as Riley Center for Eating Disorders). She has experience working with eating disorders in the outpatient, intensive outpatient program (IOP), and partial hospitalization program (PHP) levels of care. She also served as Nutrition Manager at Eating Recovery Center, The Carolinas.

In her free time, she enjoys traveling, thrift shopping, and spending time with family and friends. Christina is married to Cole and they have two daughters.

Hannah Hughes (she/her/hers)
Virtual Practice Assistant
Hannah works as a Virtual Practice Assistant with Reedy River Counseling Associates. She has worked in the nonprofit sector for two years now and is currently working towards her graduate degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Clemson University. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Clemson University with a minor in Nonprofit leadership and has been able to utilize her education in both clinical and nonprofit settings.
Her passions include creating a safe and comfortable space for clients to pursue care regarding their mental health. In her free time, she loves spending time with her friends and family. She enjoys being active, reading, and shopping.
